The Qur’an is the holy book of Islam and is believed by Muslims to be the word of God (Allah) revealed to the Prophet Muhammad through the Angel Gabriel over a period of about 23 years. It is written in Arabic and is considered the central religious text of Islam.

The Qur’an contains guidance on faith, worship, morality, law, and daily life. It is divided into 114 chapters called surahs, which vary in length and topic. Muslims recite and study the Qur’an for spiritual guidance, peace, and understanding of Islamic teachings.

The main themes of the Qur’an include:

  • Belief in one God (Allah)
  • Compassion, justice, and honesty
  • Prayer and worship
  • Charity and helping others
  • Patience and forgiveness
  • Accountability in the afterlife

The Qur’an is highly respected by Muslims around the world and is often memorized, recited, and studied both for religious practice and personal spiritual growth.
